Course Details

Overview

This Masters course is designed to give you a head start in the tourism and hospitality sectors, which are part of one of the world’s largest industries. Our Tourism and Hospitality MSc brings together a rigorous social science approach with the development of skills that are needed by, for example, restaurant entrepreneurs, resort coordinators and hotel managers. We welcome applications from graduates of any discipline. You will study theoretical approaches through modules such as ‘Critical Tourism Theory and Methods’ and ‘International Tourism and Development’. There is a core module in ‘Hospitality Management Studies’ and an optional module with a focus on work-based learning. You will negotiate the final phase of the course with your tutors to reflect your personal interests and career aspirations.

Entry Requirements

A good UK first degree, professional qualification or an overseas equivalent.ANDStudents whose first language is not English and who have not previously studied in English are required to demonstrate appropriate proficiency in English language. Our requirement is IELTS 6.5 with 6.0 in each sub-test.  Candidates who meet our academic entry requirements but whose score for IELTS (or an English language test considered the equivalent of IELTS) is below 6.5 can apply for a programme that includes an eight-week pre-sessional English Language course, for which there is an additional fee Modules
