Entry requirements

FOUNDATION YEAR

  • 5 GCSEs at grade 3, or grade D, or above, (or equivalent) plus evidence of having attempted two years of post GCSE study at level 3;
  • or International Secondary School Certificate (11th grade) with transcript;
    • English Language IELTS 6.0 overall (5.5 in each section);
    • or Duolingo English Test 95-100 overall (85-90 in each section).

UNDERGRADUATE

  • Level 3 BTEC Diploma // A-Levels // Foundation Degree;
  • or Titulo de Bachiler // International Baccalaureate Diploma with transcript;
    • English Language IELTS 6.0 overall (5.5 in each section);
    • or Duolingo English Test 95-100 overall (85-90 in each section).

POSTGRADUATE

  • UK Bachelor’s Degree.
  • International Bachelor’s Degree;
    • English Language IELTS 6.5 overall (6 in each section);
    • or Duolingo English Test 105-110 overall (95-100 in each section).

 

Accommodation, location and facilities

Staying in University accommodation during your studies is a great way to meet new people, make new friends and gain some independence with the reassurance that our Residence Life team are always onsite for help and support.

Each UWS campus has a choice of accommodation on offer. A variety of self-catered accommodation is available at our campuses in Ayr and Paisley in the form of shared flats or studios. All offer a safe and friendly environment close to main campus buildings and near to local amenities within the west of Scotland. Students attending the UWS London Campus generally find their own accommodation, either in the form of a private let or privately managed residence.

UWS will not be taking applications for Lanarkshire Campus student accommodation for academic year 2020/21. Alternative accommodation is available in Hamilton and the surrounding area for students requiring residences.
