Welcome to the University of Greenwich. Established in 1890, located on the banks of the River Thames, the green spaces of Avery Hill, and the historic Chatham Maritime in Kent.

The University of Greenwich campuses are the perfect blend of old and new. You'll use the latest technology in our state-of-the-art teaching spaces while enjoying the splendour of historic buildings.

Entry requirements

FOUNDATION YEAR

  • 5 GCSEs at grade 3, or grade D, or above, (or equivalent) plus evidence of having attempted two years of post GCSE study at level 3;
  • or International Secondary School Certificate (11th grade) with transcript;
    • English Language IELTS 6.0 overall (5.5 in each section);
    • or Duolingo English Test 95-100 overall (85-90 in each section).

UNDERGRADUATE

  • Level 3 BTEC Diploma // A-Levels // Foundation Degree;
  • or Titulo de Bachiler // International Baccalaureate Diploma with transcript;
    • English Language IELTS 6.0 overall (5.5 in each section);
    • or Duolingo English Test 95-100 overall (85-90 in each section).

POSTGRADUATE

  • UK Bachelor’s Degree.
  • International Bachelor’s Degree;
    • English Language IELTS 6.5 overall (6 in each section);
    • or Duolingo English Test 105-110 overall (95-100 in each section).

 

Accommodation, location and facilities

The University provides around 2,400 places in halls on or near our campuses at Greenwich, Avery Hill and Medway. They also run bus services between campuses, including a free shuttle bus between Greenwich and Avery Hill.

The University accommodation promise includes a coronavirus break clause if the university becomes a completely virtual campus. 

The University’s facilities include first-class advanced laboratories for science and engineering students, plus three campus libraries with dedicated academic services librarians. 

The newly reopened Dreadnought Building at Greenwich hosts academic, teaching and computing spaces alongside a gymnasium and concert venue for a memorable student experience.
